Kia Puāwai’s journey began in 1997.
Today, our therapists, practitioners, coaches and caregivers continue to make a significant difference in the lives of tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and their communities throughout Aotearoa – helping them grow, flourish and thrive.
We draw on the knowledge, expertise, and passions of people from all sectors and backgrounds
We have a highly skilled and passionate team of kaimahi and caregivers who come from a range of backgrounds, cultures, and disciplines. We seek out and celebrate a depth and richness of diversity of experiences, knowledge, world views, and individual differences as we believe this strengthens our collective mahi.
All corners of our organisation – our policies, procedures and processes – are Rainbow inclusive, and we are proudly Rainbow Tick accredited.
Our kaimahi support and celebrate all peoples’ sexualities and gender identities. Kia Puāwai is a safe and inclusive place where kaimahi can be their true selves and can connect for support.
We provide services in the west of Tāmaki Makaurau, but there are other providers throughout the country who are also available to provide similar support.
If you need a hand working out the right service for you, or connecting with the right provider, reach out to our team here
We provide a range of services aimed at supporting tamariki and rangatahi through whānau-centred approaches to therapy and support.
Our whānau services help to strengthen whānau relationships, increase effective and positive communication and help whānau create lasting hope and positive change together.

Waka Hourua is a metaphor that guides our strategic journey to integrate te ao Māori and te ao Tauiwi knowledge into all aspects of the way we work. The way we deliver our services for whānau, rangatahi and tamariki. The way we lead our organisational capability.
