We believe our rangatahi deserve to thrive. We draw from te ao Māori and tauiwi knowledge to strengthen your wellbeing, mana and wairua.
Our team will help you to access the financial support you need if you are living in New Lynn or Waitākere in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Both the Youth Payment and the Young Parent Payment provide taiohi with financial support and opportunities to obtain qualifications, learn parenting skills and build education and career pathways.
Sometimes family dynamics, relationship issues, a change in circumstance or new responsibilities, mean taiohi are no longer able to live with their parents or guardians. Some may also find themselves in a caregiver role, supporting tamariki.
The Youth Payment is available to 16-and-17-year-olds who can’t live with their parents. The Young Parent Payment is for 16-to-19-year-olds who are the main caregiver of a tamaiti or tamariki.
